RSA Security, the most trusted name in e-security, today announced that Attix5, the PricewaterhouseCoopers-backed provider of secure remote data backup and retrieval, has signed a contract to deploy RSA Security`s authentication and public key infrastructure (PKI) solutions. Under the terms of the agreement, Attix5 becomes RSA Security`s exclusive global Premier Partner for end-to-end remote backup.
The agreement includes product development, global marketing and distribution arrangements and the inclusion of RSA BSAFE products within Attix5 technology. The two companies also intend to launch a joint marketing initiative with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) to promote risk assessment on a worldwide basis, and RSA Security has bought a 1 000-user licence for Attix5`s Backup Professional product with plans for company-wide internal deployment.
Using RSA Security`s RSA BSAFE Cert-J and RSA Keon Certificate Authority (CA) products, Attix5`s established Backup Professional solution is PKI-enabled and will become RSA SecurID-ready, further enhancing its reputation as the most secure back-up solution on the market. RSA BSAFE software bundles all the PKI and encryption technology required for an effective implementation, helping to reduce risk and cost and accelerate time-to-market.
Roelou Barry, founder and chief executive officer at Attix5, comments: "We are delighted to be working with RSA Security and feel that the accreditation of Attix5 as an exclusive global Premier Partner is a further endorsement of the sophisticated solutions that we provide.
"Risk mitigation is our mantra and has never been more important to customers than it is today. A great deal of corporate data is generated and stored outside today`s enterprise on a variety of disparate devices, and so the risk of large amounts of mission-critical data being lost is considerable. Lost data is lost revenue, and our commitment to protecting our customers` business is furthered by the additional security RSA Security will give us."
Robert Pritchard, vice president of Developer Solutions Sales and Strategic Alliances at RSA Security, says: "The scope of RSA Security`s strategic partnership with Attix5 on a global basis is a demonstration of our confidence in its solutions and in the business case we can make together. Furthermore, our customers will be in a great position to gain from this deal and together with Attix5, I aim to ensure that they are fully informed about the benefits before the end of the year.
"The combination of strong backup solutions and security can provide an irresistible business opportunity. We are also looking forward to undertaking a joint campaign on risk assessment with PwC and Attix5 over the months ahead, working together to promote the revenue generation opportunities that effective e-security can engender," he concludes.
