Online business in the spotlight

An upcoming conference aims to help business owners expand their operations by going online.

The conference will take place at the Park Hyatt Hotel in Rosebank, Johannesburg, on 24 and 25 August.

"Customers are looking for increased convenience and the availability of services 24/7," says conference organiser Marcus Evans. "Through expanding operations, you can satisfy your customers by providing convenience in an efficient and user-friendly manner."

The conference will provide insight into how industry players such as Netflorist and eBucks have formulated business plans and set up operations, says Marcus Evans. Delegates can also expect to learn how these companies marketed the Web sites to overcome consumers` fears and make the online experience a worthwhile and successful operation.

The conference will examine why some online business succeed while others fail, investigate international trends and benchmark SA against the rest of the world. Changing consumer perceptions regarding buying online will also be discussed, as will whether technology is supporting the growth of the online industry.
