A recently discovered banking Prg Trojan is successfully lifting millions of dollars from thousands of commercial banking clients around the world, reports ChannelWeb.

"It`s actually some state-of-the-art banking fraud code. I was very surprised at how sophisticated it was," said Don Jackson, senior security researcher for SecureWorks, who discovered the original Trojan in June.

Unlike other forms of the Prg Trojan, this new variant of malware is specifically designed to commit banking fraud, security experts say. "What makes this stand out is that it`s a variant," said Derek Manky, security research engineer at Fortinet.

Bank’s tech attracts customers

The First National Bank branch in Papillion features hi-tech innovations that have become an attraction, says WOWT.com.

The customer steps on one of the sections of a projection on the floor, and is pointed in the right direction. This includes account opening, print your own brochures, view your retirement plan and possibly open a small business.

There`s eye scanning security for safe deposit box access to confirm your identity.

NCR develops interactive tech

A system-generated personal identification number (PIN) can be used to withdraw money from an account in an automated teller machine (ATM), says The Economic Times.

NCR, a global self-service technology major, has developed an interactive technology for cash withdrawals without an ATM card. The company is in talks with a leading private sector bank to offer this technology.

According to country sales manager of NCR India’s financial solutions division Manjunath Rao, the PIN transaction through a mobile phone is secure as it uses encrypted messages. Shopping and stock trading are also possible through interactive ATMs, as banks have access to customer’s PAN, address and account balance.
