Appian builds EMEA momentum

Appian, a global provider of business process management (BPM) technology, says Appian Europe, the company's headquarters for the EMEA region, posted strong growth in 2007 and through the first quarter of 2008, says CNN Money.

Revenue for Q4 07 and Q1 08 was 153% higher than that for the first half of 2007, with Appian Europe running in excess of eight successful customer projects.

That success, combined with a strong sales pipeline, demonstrates the growing EMEA market demand for Appian's industry-leading Appian Enterprise BPM suite.

Ascentn, Hypertech partner

Ascentn, a provider of .NET-based business process management system (BPMS) solutions, is expanding inside EMEA, by signing a new partnership for the Balkan-Region, reports ebizq.

This new partnership, with a company called Hypertech, will strengthen Ascentn's presence in the European market and help the company address demand for its BPM software solutions.

BPM goes mainstream

BPM is showing gains in productivity and process visibility, but the process-heavy technology practice is not without lacking commitment, says Baseline Mag.

The good news is that technology to support BPM has become widely accepted, with a majority of enterprises having BPM projects, according to a pair of recent surveys.

The bad news is that implementing BPM - which requires real process change to succeed - is no slam-dunk. In fact, in a recent survey from Forrester Research, a majority of IT professionals at 142 companies reported the type of mixed results from BPM more closely associated with a three-pointer.
