Interactive Intelligence wins SA Frost & Sullivan Technology Leadership award

Johannesburg, 25 Sep 2009

Global software company Interactive Intelligence received the 2009 South African Technology Leadership Award by Frost & Sullivan for its value-added technology in the contact centre market.

The companies were awarded for their innovative open-integration (tested, flexible and open to modifications) freedom of product choice for customers and their user-friendly software features. Interactive Intelligence has also demonstrated leadership by excelling in all stages of the technology life cycle - incubation, adaptation, take-up and maturity - to ensure a continuous flow of improvements and client applications.

“A pioneer of global software-based contact centre solutions, Interactive Intelligence's architecture is built on open-based standards that allows for strong integration with third-party products like Microsoft and Oracle. This provides the company with a distinctive advantage in making customised integrations,” says Mpho Moyo, research analyst at Frost & Sullivan.

With its solution dating back 12 years, the company has a competitive advantage in thought leadership, experience and development of innovative product features.

To determine the winner of this award, the analyst team tracked all emerging technologies and ongoing research and development projects within the industry and compared it according to customer base demands. Elements such as feasibility of product launch, likelihood of customer acceptance, and estimated time to market are taken into account.

“Interactive Intelligence received the highest industry ranking based on its ongoing research and development efforts; value-added technology and services; accelerated rate of market adoption; product innovation; and the fact that very few competitors have similar offerings,” says Moyo.

Interactive Intelligence developed an integrated suite of contact centre applications ranging from inbound, multimedia, outbound diallers, voice recording, interactive voice response (IVR) and workforce management, hereby reducing the installation and ongoing maintenance costs.

“We are proud to have been selected for this award and welcome the recognition and validation of our strategy internationally, and more specifically, within the local South African contact centre market. South Africa has developed into a successful and important part of our EMEA business market and we continually seek new ways of delivering cost savings and competitive advantage for our South African customers,” commented Dave Paulding, regional sales director for UK, Middle East and Africa at Interactive Intelligence.
