Johannesburg, 25 Sep 2009
In a ceremony at its headquarters in Johannesburg on 15 September, six South African companies, regarded as leaders in their field, have signed agreements with Oracle to sell and deliver training courses in South Africa, committing themselves to the high training standards of Oracle University.
With these new Oracle University resellers and Oracle Approved Education Centres (OAECs), Oracle will strengthen its offering to a wide range of industries, including government, financial services, transportation, construction, high technology, shipping and manufacturing.
In signing the Oracle University contracts, these Oracle University resellers/OAECs are establishing a formal partnership with Oracle to sell and deliver all training formats on behalf of Oracle University in South Africa. They will follow the best practices recommended by Oracle and their staff will be trained to uphold the high standards required.
In welcoming the new Oracle University resellers/OAECs, Nicky Sheridan, Vice-President Oracle South Africa, said: “Thank you for joining Oracle University in offering a new perspective to the IT industry, and to those who want to start or enhance a career in IT in South Africa. Your commitment to education will make a difference and will foster Oracle as one of the leading IT education brands in the country.”
Customers can now choose between joining a training programme at Oracle University in Woodmead, Gauteng, or at any of the existing or new OAECs in Johannesburg, Pretoria, Durban or Cape Town. Oracle University and its OAECs are in a position to offer training for the whole range of products for both technology and all applications. These courses contain the recommended content in preparation for the Oracle Certification, and are valid as a hands-on requirement towards certification.
