Torque IT earns international ITIL, Prince2 and agile project management ATO accreditation status

Johannesburg, 12 Dec 2014

Torque IT, a leading South African ICT training solutions provider, is proud to announce its accreditation by APMG International as an ITIL, Prince2 and Agile Project Management Accredited Training Organisation (ATO).

Prince2 is one of the most respected project management approaches and tools available globally and is designed to manage projects and improve project performance.

While ITIL is the leading framework for IT service management as an ITIL ATO, Torque IT, will now offer a comprehensive ITIL curriculum that includes ITIL Foundation, ITIL Intermediate Level Capability and Lifecycle courses as well as the ITIL Managing Across the Lifecycle Capstone course. These levels equate to either the ITIL expert or master levels certifications.

Awarded by APMG, a highly-regarded global certification body that ensures training quality in ICT, the ATO status demonstrates Torque IT's capacity to provide quality training in the IT and project management space. "The AMPG International accreditation means that we have the highest accreditation in the world for ITIL, Prince2 and Agile Project Management programmes," said Mpho Makgoka, Business Unit Manager for Torque IT.

"For a vendor to be accredited by APMG, it is required to undergo stringent assessment processes which involved assessment of the company's Quality Management Systems (QMS), course materials and trainers. This accreditation assures those seeking training that the technical competence and integrity of the ATO has been thoroughly assessed and, as a result, can be confident that accredited companies' services are of a consistently high standard," said Nigel Mercer, Regional Manager of APMG International.

Makgoka added: "Importantly, as an APMG approved ATO, AMPG has opened up opportunities for us to also provide our training programmes at a much lower rate to market. Our journey to where we are today is a true reflection our organisation's dedication across a diverse range of ICT and IT service management training and certifications. Many IT organisations recognise the value of adopting ITIL, Prince2 and Agile Project Management best practices to ensure workplace efficiencies. We believe it is our responsibility that our training and certifications within these three product sets offer our customers return on investment for training budgets spent."

Augusta Vascellari-Hollis, Project Management Business Unit Manager at Torque IT believes an important benefit for organisations and individuals alike is the assurance that wherever they may go in the world, where AMPG programmes are used, those individuals will be able to study or utilise the programmes further, as APMG methodologies are the same across the world.

Agile Project Management provides an approach that offers agility but retains the concepts of a project, project delivery and project management. It works alongside more formal project management approaches such as Prince2 and complements quality processes such as ISO9001 and Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI).

A key aspect of the QMS, as set out by the ITIL Qualification Board and APMG, is to ensure Torque IT instructors are up to date with their certifications and that they are able to showcase the latest knowledge of ITIL,Prince2 and Agile Project Management, thus ensuring consistency in delivering quality content to all clients entering their doors. Trainer accreditation includes but is not limited to training experience, knowledge in the IT service management field and specific training and certificates requirements depending on the level of ITIL qualification that we deliver. Torque IT is also licensed by Axelos to deliver comprehensive ITIL and Prince2 examination services to our customers.
