Sharing Discoveries roadshow showcases latest Nokia products, experiences

Johannesburg, 30 May 2007

At an event in Johannesburg, Nokia recently hosted African media and business partners at the Sharing Discoveries roadshow, an event which introduced new Nokia multimedia products and experiences.

"Nokia Multimedia is really an experience company, and that is why events like this are so important," says Neil Gordon, general manager for multimedia sales in the Middle East and Africa. "Just looking around the navigation, Internet and blogging demonstrations here today, you can see what a multimedia computer allows you to experience."

To facilitate these experiences, Nokia is also launching four new products, the N800 Internet tablet, the N93i, the N76 and the long awaited Nokia N95.

The Nokia N95, first shown to the media late last year at Open Studio Cape Town, is the ultimate example of the multimedia computer featuring built-in global positioning system (GPS) receiver, 5MP camera and a unique dual-slide function. "The N95 has been an incredible success with the media over the past six months, so it is great to announce the start of sales here," continues Gordon.

The day also marked the first launch for the Nokia N76, a new multimedia computer arriving in the African market for the first time. The N76 is a perfect blend of style and substance. This latest addition to the Nokia Nseries portfolio offers a wide range of multimedia experiences to consumers, enabling them to create, consume and connect, using music, videos, images and the Internet. All of these features come in the trimmest Nokia Nseries device yet, a feature sure to appeal to consumers.

Another new arrival is the Nokia N800 Internet tablet, a multimedia computer of a different kind. The Nokia N800 combines a truly personal Internet experience with easy wireless connections, high-resolution display and support for a wide variety of Internet and third party applications.

Rounding off the new products is the Nokia N93i, a compact and stylish digital camcorder and multimedia computer in one. Boasting a host of advanced features - from DVD-like quality video capture to direct video uploads - the Nokia N93i enables you to record great quality video wherever and whenever you feel inspired.

"This launch is not about the products alone, it is about showing what these products allow consumers to do. This is the direction for Nseries, and we are looking forward to a bright future," concludes Gordon.
