This is being released with Hitachi GST's 1TB 3.5 inch HDD 'Deskstar 7K1000', and Samsung's PC Business R&D team has been testing the product for compatibility and reliability.

The product is expected to be released soon, although the price of the Hitachi Deskstar was deemed too high, at between $350 and $400.

Bamboo notebook on display

At the Computex Taipei 2007 conference, Earth Tech computers unveiled its bamboo concept notebook, says Tech On.

The top panel and area surrounding the keyboard are made of bamboo, and although it is currently a concept product, the company plans to release the model.

Earth Tech also displayed its Eee PC 701, weighing 0.89kg. It is a "zero spindle" PC, with a flash drive instead of a hard disk.
