No monthly fee! New GPS travel recorder helps track company vehicles

PDAShop.co.za launches Qstarz BT-Q1000 GPS travel recorder.

Johannesburg, 14 Aug 2007

Local HandyMAP distributor PDAShop.co.za has signed an agreement with Qstarz International (QSTARZ), a global provider of GPS and Bluetooth products, to distribute the world-class travel recorder GPS Data Log.

With built-in Google Earth integration, the Qstarz BT-Q1000 Double 32 Bluetooth GPS Travel Recorder can log over 100 000 way points and features an outstanding endurance of 32 hours while tracking 32 channels for increased speed and accuracy.

PDAShop.co.za regional manager Kun-cheng Tu says the BT-Q1000 is fully compatible with the full HandyMAP navigation software product range. "This total tracking and logging solution is ideal for sales staff wanting to log their trips or companies wanting to track and log their delivery vehicles' routes. The travel recorder can be set for both navigation and logging or just to logging mode."

One can easily transfer all the accumulated way points to HandyMAP or Google Earth to plot the routes. The Qstarz BT-Q1000 travel recorder plots ones itinerary in the greatest detail, complete with speeds, times and heights. One has various options in specifying at what intervals one wants the route recorded. In the software utility, one has the options to specify exactly how often one wants this to happen and what the parameters should be.

Kun-cheng says the more satellites the receiver can track, the more accurate and faster it is. "The BT-Q1000 has WAAS and EGNOS support for greater accuracy and allows 32 satellite channel tracking. Using the travel recorder's utility, one can quickly download the data and view the route by simply pressing the Draw Map button. This immediately converts all the waypoints into HandyMAP via a third party software or Google Earth."

The newly-released travel recorder is the most fully featured receiver available today; it is compact and comes complete with a vehicle charger and cable with a mini USB tip to allow charging from a standard USB port. Furthermore, it has a POI button for immediately recording a point of interest with a push of a button.

PDAShop.co.za has a special offer on the Qstarz BT-Q1000 travel recorder until the end of the year, customers will get one device free of charge for every three purchased. The recommended retail price for the Qstarz BT-Q1000 travel recorder is R1 400 (VAT inclusive).

HandyMAP

HandyMAP is a professional PC/Pocket PC Satellite Navigation software suite; it offers a substantial number of road networks and places/points of interest (POI). HandyMAP offers functions such as: search by road/POI/city etc. 3D GPS satellite navigation is part of the functionality & allows you to plan a route most suited to the circumstances you are faced with. Once your route is 'mapped out' you will be directed turn-by-turn by intelligent voice command. Auto routing information allows you to track and select your own waypoints that may be shared between friends by importing and exporting the necessary files.
