SurfControl Web Filter for Novell BorderManager v3.8 now filters with all 40 categories. Enhancements in Novell`s 3.8 release enabled SurfControl to increase the number of categories available in the Access Control Rules by 10, extending Novell customers the full power of SurfControl content filtering.
"Filtering can be customised down to the user group level with the new version of Web Filter for Novell BorderManager," says Wayne Bird from Networks Unlimited, reseller of SurfControl in SA. "It employs the largest database of high-risk Web content and accesses the most comprehensive and accurate list of categorised URLs," says Bird.
SurfControl leverages BorderManager`s existing control lists by providing its categories to BorderManager as destination sets. The use of standard BorderManager rules for filtering imposes little administrative overhead, and handles user/group filtering without any changes to the existing authentication system.
An optional monitoring and reporting module lets you identify your organisation`s Internet behaviour, enabling you to create an acceptable use policy that is right for your organisation.
The new version enables you to actively monitor who is surfing currently and who has been where and the category of the site. Categories are colour-coded for easy identification and data can be searched and sorted by user, site, category, etc. Historical data is also displayed.
Rapid reports can be created from usage summaries to trends and are available in PDF, HTML, Word and other formats. It is possible to drill down to individual activity and remote administration is also available.
