Eject ISP announces major price decreases

Johannesburg, 16 Mar 2005

For the third successive year, Fujitsu`s Eject ISP service has introduced more price decreases than increases, with some charges now abolished.

"Recognising that customer requirements will grow from analogue to ISDN, ADSL and further, and to cater for businesses, Eject has announced significant price reductions in these areas," said head of VISP Practice - Bill Keenan.

The ISDN 64k option has decreased by 30%, the ISDN 128k decreased by 17%, and ADSL bandwidth option has been reduced by R20 pm.

Coupled with Telkom`s new ADSL 192 service aimed at home users, and a decrease in ADSL 512 line costs, plus Eject`s ADSL bandwidth price decreases, broadband is becoming more affordable to all.

The once-off and annual domain name registration, transfer and renewal charges have been abolished. The own domain personalisation option has been kept at old price, but now with no annual or once-off charges. Businesses or families can now obtain their own domain name for websites and emails at a much lower price.

"The SAIX dialup option has been decreased by 58%, giving significant monthly savings by reducing long distance call charges. Users who travel around South Africa and those further than 50 KM from our POPs, should use the SAIX option to only dial one number, and access the internet at local call charges," said Keenan.

He said the Standard Internet Access service will increase marginally and still be extremely well priced compared to competitors. All users will benefit from the recently implemented central spam rejection facility, which reduces spam significantly and thereby reduces download costs.

A Webmail facility will be included for all users, at no charge. This gives users the ability to delete large emails before downloading them, use anti-spam filters to further reduce spam based on content and keywords, and send and receive emails from any Internet-connected PC in the world.

The eScan anti-virus, Personal Firewall and Veto, extra emails, extra webspace, webstats and website database options remain at 2004 pricing.

"We have no hidden costs such as Internet Banking charges, obligatory loyalty program membership, unwanted advertising, or hidden membership fees," said Keenan.
