McAfee has found that spammers are now using Google Docs to try to bypass traditional spam filters.
The spammers are sending out a plain text e-mail that contains a link to a document hosted on Google Docs.
The document contains a message advertising medication, stocks or other popular spam items.
According to McAfee, the volume of Google Docs spam isn't very high yet. But, McAfee Avert Labs' spam traps have captured 517 spam e-mail messages that included links to Google Docs in one day.
The company is urging Internet users to be aware that a link to any Web site, including Google Docs, could be malicious.
