The deployment of wireless Internet access points in its stores across SA last year is proving to be a great success, says Seattle Coffee Company director Barry Parker.

He claims a 25% growth month on month, which shows the strategy is paying off in terms of attracting more people and encouraging them to stay longer.

"A lot more coffee is being sold as the average Wi-Fi session lasts around 67 minutes," says Parker.

He ascribes the success of the venture to the partnership with lower-cost broadband server providers to offer good value for money, as well as the reliability and low maintenance of the system.

"We chose ProCurve Networking by HP because we're in the business of making coffee, not fixing computer systems," says Parker.
