Global security vendor Trend Micro is pleased to announce it will be demonstrating to local customers how they can better secure their business against targeted attacks and advanced persistent threats from an endpoint, virtualisation and cloud as well as customer defence point of view at the upcoming ITWeb Security Summit.
The company will showcase to attendees how its end-to-end security solutions can be leveraged to create complete content security - from the desktop to mobile devices right through to the data centre and cloud storage solutions. It will also provide a snapshot on custom defence solutions for better protection against targeted attacks and advanced persistent threats.
"In the past year, there have been more and more reports of businesses experiencing data and identity theft, with exploits like Heartbleed, Shellshock and BadUSB that have all put more pressure on CISOs and CIOs to develop out-of-the-box approaches to enterprise security from the data centre right down to the end-user," says Gregory Anderson, country manager at Trend Micro South Africa.
"Cyber criminals have developed a more focused approach to the way they target business, specifically taking into the account weak spots and the size of a business before launching an attack. This is where we can provide custom defence to security practitioners that want to ensure their businesses are ready to fight off targeted attacks."
A gold sponsor at the ITWeb Security Summit, Trend Micro will use the opportunity to showcase, among others, its Deep Security and Deep Discovery offerings. Deep Security covers the security of physical and virtual environments, cloud instances or Web applications, while the Deep Discovery platform is the foundation of the Trend Micro Custom Defense offering that integrates security into an all-encompassing defence to help organisations fight back against targeted attacks.
The event, scheduled for 27 and 28 May with a technical workshop on 29 May, is in its 10th year and will be hosted at Vodacom World, Midrand. ITWeb Security Summit 2015 will deliver an agenda aligned with the specific threats and opportunities facing African CISOs, security specialists, risk officers and CIOs.
