Broadcast developed in SA has taken to the world stage, through an agreement between Phumelela-Gold Enterprises (PGE) and Racing UK, the holder of television rights to 30 horse racing courses in the UK.

TellyTrack, a dedicated horseracing channel owned by PGE, uses AutoScribe software developed by SoftArc Technologies to automate a real-time and video package of South African and UK racing for daily broadcasts to licensed bookmakers around the world.

"This platform allows SoftArc Technologies to showcase the quality of its locally developed broadcast software, as it expands into the international market," says Sonja Breet, SoftArc Technologies director.

SoftArc`s suite of products includes character generation software, display and presentation software and streaming solutions.

"The AutoScribe application used by TellyTrack enables the display of continually updating bookmakers` odds as well as race information, results and dividends," says Mike Rishworth, TellyTrack CEO.

"AutoScribe also automates the handling of data feeds from the UK in XML format and local feeds from satellite and FTP sources, merging the data with live video."

SoftArc has developed a number of other and cross-media solutions for broadcasters, including the SMS messaging used in M-Net`s Big Brother programme and financial tickers used in SABC`s Business Update.
