Now available through Dax Data's network of partners is the all-new standalone Lightroom 6 and Creative Cloud edition, Lightroom CC. The biggest upgrade to Lightroom 6 and CC is speed. Both editions offer lightning-fast performance and new tools to edit, enhance, organise and showcase beautiful photos.

"Adobe is giving consumers and professional photographers alike a new option. Amateur users who dabble in photography can choose the standalone Adobe Lightroom 6 and working professionals are able to download Lightroom CC as part of their Creative Cloud subscription," explains Jeremy Matthews, CEO of local Adobe Distributor, Dax Data.

"With Lightroom, all your photography tools are in one place. Users can organise, edit and share photos from anywhere - on computers, on the Web, on their iPad and on their iPhone or Android devices."

Lightroom Desktop features include:

* HDR Merge: Create natural-looking or surreal images from extremely high-contrast scenes. Using HDR merge, one can easily combine multiple shots taken with different exposure settings into a single high dynamic range image.
* Panorama Merge: Stitch together multiple images, including raw files, to create stunning panorama shots.
* Performance improvements: Get more done, faster. Lightroom takes advantage of compatible graphics processors to boost its overall speed up to 10 times faster, especially in the Develop module.
* Facial recognition: Easily find and organise photos of family and friends with new facial recognition features in Lightroom CC.
* Advanced video slideshows: Combine still images, video and music with professional effects like pan and zoom.
* Improved Web galleries: Showcase work in more elegant, engaging and interactive Web galleries. New HTML5-compatible gallery templates work with the widest range of desktop and mobile browsers.
* Filter brush: Precisely control which parts of an image are affected by the graduated or radial filters. Now consumers can use a brush to edit the filter's mask, adding or subtracting filter effects wherever they want.

The roles of phones and tablets are growing, and photographers' needs are becoming increasingly complex. Naturally, both Lightroom 6 and CC work in concert with the Lightroom Mobile app, but only Creative Cloud subscribers have access to advanced mobile features such as file-syncing.

Lightroom Mobile features include:

* Android tablet support: Previously only available on Android phones, now users can sync, edit, organise and share on Android tablets as well.
* Android SD card support: Users are able to assign local storage to an SD card rather than internal device storage.
* Native DNG support on Android: Android 5.0 (aka "Lollipop") now allows users to shoot photos in raw, and saves them as DNG files. Allowing users to import those DNG files directly from their Android device.
* Improved crop experience on iOS: With a simplified number of tiles in the crop, UI users can easily find aspect ratios.

The latest versions of the software make greater use of computers' graphics processors (GPUs), speeding up most processes and allowing complex tasks to run in the background without slowing the user experience. The increased performance that is included certainly makes it a necessary upgrade for anyone.
