The Independent Communications Authority of SA (ICASA) has appointed Jackie Manche as its new CEO. Manche will replace the former CEO, Nkateko Nyoka.

Formerly deputy director-general in the Department of Provincial and Local Government (DPLG), Manche is expected to bring her years of experience in the public service to bear in her new role as CEO at the regulator.

"As an organisation, the DPLG regrets the loss of a key member of our top management team, particularly someone of Ms Manche`s calibre, but we nonetheless welcome her appointment to ICASA," says DPLG minister, Sydney Mufamadi.

"Nevertheless, we are proud to have created an environment of leadership growth and development, which has contributed to her career success."

Mufamadi states that this bears credit to his department`s strategic objective of building and nurturing leadership.

"I wish to convey our gratitude and thanks to Ms Manche for her sterling work and contribution to the growth of the department since its rebirth in the early 1990s. We bid her a hearty farewell and wish her great success in her new role," he says.
