Astricon - Phoenix, AZ, 26 Sep 2007

Grandstream Networks (www.grandstream.com), a leading designer and manufacturer of next-generation IP voice and video products for broadband networks and Digium (www.digium.com), the leading provider of open source telephony software platforms for business, announced today the completion of interoperability certification between Digium's Asterisk Business Edition platform and the Grandstream GXP 2020 and Multi-line SIP Enterprise Phone Series, and the HandyTone 50x Analog Telephone Adaptor Series.

The Grandstream product portfolio delivers excellent voice quality and an advanced feature set that is easy to use and easy to provision through an automated secure provisioning process.

Digium's Asterisk Business Edition Platform provides traditional and advanced telecommunications applications based on open source software. Together, the Grandstream and Digium IP telephony solution creates a very cost-effective, auto-configurable IP telephony solution for the worldwide SME market.

"Our SIP product portfolio offers a very compelling, competitive price-performance benchmark. The combination of Asterisk Business Edition and Grandstream SIP products creates an awesome opportunity for the small to medium-sized business to create a world-class advanced IP communications system.

"Our official interoperability also means Asterisk system integrators can now deploy a high quality and cost-effective voice over IP solution to a broad market," commented David Li, CEO of Grandstream Networks. "We believe this combined solution offers exceptional value for the SME market and we look forward to a prosperous relationship with Digium."

"Digium and Grandstream have worked together to ensure Asterisk Business Edition and Grandstream products are officially interoperable, so now our customers have even more certified options for reliable and cost-effective VOIP solutions," said Jim Webster, Director of Technology Partnerships for Digium.

"Small to medium enterprises worldwide are looking for high-performance converged VOIP solutions that deliver advanced features and are easy to manage and easy to deploy. The SME now has a new choice in advanced open source IP communications systems."

Grandstream's GXP 2020 and GXP2010 SIP phones deliver superior performance and an advanced feature set. The GXP 2020 Series offers dual 10/100 auto-sensing Ethernet ports with integrated PoE, individual SIP accounts, advanced XML applications, MLS (multi-language support) in five languages and remote configuration for quick deployment over a large network. The HT502 and HT503 offer either two FXS ports or programmable FXO/FXS port combination respectively, are based on SIP standard and feature an integrated high performance router, port status and message waiting LED. The HT50x series delivers more powerful feature functionality and significantly better data router performance than its predecessors, and has a new sleek design. These ATAs are lightweight and compact and work with any phone or fax, support a broad range of codecs and T.38 fax. The HT50x Series ATAs are ideal for residential or 'road-warrior' users.
