Manchu e-Solutions is yet another example of a successful South African management and ICT solutions company that is committed to black empowerment and skills development.
The company is owned by husband and wife team Joe and Bessie Manchu, and provides consulting, learning, solutions and outsourcing products and services to a wide range of public and private sector organisations.
"We have just taken on 10 young black IT students, says Joe. "There is a lot of talent out there and we want to give unemployed youth with potential the opportunity to gain knowledge and experience. The ICT world is growing and we are also looking at several other black empowered companies that we can align ourselves with."
According to Joe, the company was born when he and his wife, both MBA graduates and business consultants, identified a need and a gap in the management and ICT market.
"We really felt that there was a lack of alignment of business and ICT processes. With our vast experience in management consulting and IT we were able to offer comprehensive solutions that were specific to each of our clients. This strategy has worked very well and we are now looking at growing the company, not only in SA, but in other countries as well."
Manchu e-Solutions consulting includes corporate strategy, business process management and change management. Learning covers strategy, content, delivery and underlying technologies. The company offers enterprise architecture, information security, ERP and CRM systems integration, as well as wireless and open source products and services. Outsourcing covers sourcing strategy, IT governance and contract management.
The Manchus took part in this year's IT expo in Dubai and have already had enquiries from various companies in the United Arab Emirates and the Middle East. Other growth opportunities have been identified in India and they have already partnered with two companies in that country's fast growing ICT sector.
