Acer has announced the resignation of Europe, the Middle East, Africa (EMEA) operations president Luca Rossi, after about six months in the position.

According to Acer, Emmanuel Fromont, the company's current Pan-America operations president, has been appointed to succeed Rossi. Meanwhile, Sumit Agnihotry will be promoted to Pan-America operations president, with both appointments taking effect from 1 January.

Acer did not reveal the reason behind Rossi's resignation, only saying he is leaving the group for "personal reasons". The 42-year-old Rossi joined Acer in 2009 as regional director of Acer Europe.

In 2011, he was appointed as division director for the Packard Bell brand business, and at the same time led EMEA's consumer division as VP.

According to the company, Rossi's pre-Acer entrepreneurial experience and his proven management capabilities have led to his appointment to lead the EMEA operations.
