Certificate Programme in Business Analysis now offered in KwaZulu-Natal

Cape Town, 08 Apr 2014

FTI is offering its four-month Certificate Programme in Business Analysis in Durban this coming May. FTI's certificate programme is aimed at the entry-level business analyst, who needs to develop a good grounding and competence in the essential skills and techniques of business analysis.

Having operated in Gauteng and the Western Cape for 25 years, FTI is offering the certificate programme for a third time in Durban, due to continued interest from the KZN business community.

Delegates who attended previous iterations of the Durban courses had the following to say: "I enrolled on the course to increase my knowledge and skills to be able to effectively deploy new software applications and solutions in my current work environment. It was a great learning experience and anyone in the BA field would benefit from attending the course."

Another delegate said: "I gained good BA knowledge and the course helped to put my current knowledge of the business analyst's role into perspective."

The certificate programme follows a rich, intensive learning methodology and was originally launched to fill the growing needs of entry-level business analysts. Further studies involving workplace assignments can be completed through FTI for further qualifications in the field.

The certificate course, which takes four months of part-time study, covers much of the content of the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BABOK) and is compliant with version 2.0. Like the Diploma, the certificate is endorsed by the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA) and carries a CDU rating of 99 towards Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) certification.

Business analysis is one of the fastest-growing careers in the world and offers rich rewards for multi-skilled individuals who can combine business knowledge, technological literacy, and strong interpersonal communication skills to help organisations draft the requirements for modern business systems. A business analysis qualification offers career opportunities in key emerging sectors critical to the knowledge economy. In South Africa, as in the rest of the world, professional and senior business analysts are in short supply.
