Global systems integrator firm Global Digital Transformation has entered into a partnership with cloud-native orchestration firm Cloudify.

Global Digital Transformation is an emerging digital transformation consultancy in the areas of IT transformation, network automation, software-defined networking (SDN) and network function virtualisation (NFV).

With operations in South Africa, Europe and North America, the company provides expertise to develop solutions that help clients transform their businesses.

Cloudify has headquarters in Herzliya, Israel, and offices in the US and Europe. It simplifies end-to-end network automation through its open source orchestration platform. The solution is designed to break down silos, transform network services and applications, connect branches, deploy and manage multi-access edge and Internet of things devices.

Through the partnership, Global Digital Transformation integrates Cloudify into its network automation offerings, using the platform to provide end-to-end orchestrated services for both virtual and physical network functions.

“Cloudify is a leading network and cloud orchestration platform in the industry, and we are proud to represent them,” says Janine Rebelo, co-founder and director of Global Digital Transformation.

“With our professional services offerings in the SDN/NFV and cloud space, combined with the superiority and flexibility of the Cloudify platform, Global Digital Transformation brings a powerful offering for those that are looking to automate their networks, whether migrating workloads to a multi-cloud hybrid environment, or telcos looking to orchestrate, manage and service chain virtual and physical network functions across their infrastructure.”

The partnership targets cross-sector organisations that want to accelerate their digital transformation initiatives.

Typical use-cases of the solution are multi-cloud orchestration, SD-WAN orchestration, federated application management and edge orchestration for universal customer premises equipment and branch use cases, adds Rebelo.

Earlier this year, Cloudify partnered with HCL Technologies, using Cloudify's platform to develop a new solution that enables telecoms firms to create dedicated, reliable SDN connections.

This solution allows telecoms providers to offer services tailored to specific use-cases, so they can maximise the value of their investments in 5G technology and unlock new revenue streams.

According to Cloudify, around 70% of all network virtualisation transformation projects fail. “This is because IT transformation has proven difficult because service providers can’t afford to simply rip out and replace all their old systems.

“As such, they try to work with suppliers to improve existing systems, but there is little incentive for suppliers when their revenue streams are at stake,” notes Cloudify.
