On Wednesday 21 October, a gala event was hosted by Microsoft in Sandton, Johannesburg in celebration of the achievements of the Microsoft Partner Network in South Africa. For the first time, EOH was awarded the Licensing Solution Provider Partner of the Year, an outstanding achievement for the relatively new licensing business within the EOH Microsoft division (EOH AMP).

This prestigious annual event is marked by an awards ceremony that acknowledges the top performers in each Microsoft technology area, as well as the service providers that have made an outstanding contribution to the Microsoft agenda and South African ICT sector throughout the financial year.

EOH had a fantastic story to tell across all of the award criteria, most notably recording outstanding growth after just three years as a Microsoft LSP, a feat that was recognised on the evening.

The EOH LSP business was born in the cloud. At a time when Microsoft was moving from a transactional software company to a services and devices player, EOH entered into the world of being a licensing solutions provider.

"Our services capability has always been our strength. We have aligned our licensing conversations with an architecture conversation, harnessing our delivery capability and solution building expertise across the Microsoft technology stack. We are exceptionally proud to call ourselves a truly end-to-end Microsoft solutions provider, a unique value proposition in the South African and African market," said Simon Peter, Divisional Director at EOH AMP.

EOH delivers an impactful message on the importance of sustainable job creation in the ICT sector, setting the pace through collaboration with government, business and technology partners in the Youth Job Creation Initiative. "Together with Microsoft, we have created seven sustainable jobs in our business, training interns and learners through the S2B (Student2Business) programme and proudly retaining 100% of our graduates as full-time employees in the licensing team," said Peter.

"EOH's approach to industry is to complement generic IT services with in-depth and specialised industry knowledge. With eight Microsoft gold competencies, 10 Microsoft focused business units and more than 400 certified Microsoft specialists in our business, you won't find any other Microsoft solutions provider in SA that can provide the depth and breadth of expertise that we do," said George Grimes, MD of EOH AMP.

"EOH's success is largely attributable to its unfailing business philosophy that is centred on people. We have always strived to attract, develop and retain the best people in the industry with the purpose of creating life-long, mutually beneficial partnerships with our customers and partners. Doing things right first time epitomises the philosophy of EOH," said Asher Bohbot, CEO of EOH.
