Agiliance - a governance, risk and compliance management platform solutions company - has unveiled a free Cyber Stress Test, as part of Cyber Security Awareness month.

The test was designed by retired CIA CISO Robert Bigman, and provides a 'pragmatic benchmark for pinpointing weaknesses in cyber security preparedness, and supplies actionable insights for addressing areas that need strengthening against threats'.

Jayson O'Reilly, director of sales and innovation at DRS, says the test examines five areas - program governance, security organisation, policies and standards, technical security, and mitigation procedures.

"Risk scores will be an invaluable and pragmatic benchmark to determine your company's areas of strength and those areas that require improvement," he says.

O'Reilly adds that the past few months have seen a slew of attacks against prominent companies, including Adobe, LexisNexis, Nasdaq and PR Newswire, clearly illustrating that no company, even the most technologically savvy ones, are safe.

"Even the companies that have the best security protocols and systems in place are vulnerable to attack. The attacks on the above-mentioned companies show that even the most bullet-proof of organisations are vulnerable."

He says that if attackers are determined enough, they will succeed sooner or later, adding that today's attacks are highly sophisticated, and employ multiple vectors to achieve their ends.

"Don't wait until you fall victim to a debilitating cyber attack or to a regulator, who tests you before you test yourself. Make sure you are fully aware of how prepared your business is, in the likely eventuality of a cyber attack."
