Puleng Technologies announce new CEO

Johannesburg, 12 Nov 2019

As of 1 October 2019, Muhammed Mayet assumed his mantle as Chief Executive Officer of Puleng Technologies (Puleng), succeeding Paul Thompson, who has led the business with distinction and success for the past 15 years.

Mayet has been a mainstay and strategic thinker, having joined the business in 2005 and being an instrumental driving force in building the Puleng security strategy, driving its profitability and ensuring that, as a proudly South African business, it rivals the excellence associated with competing global security practices.

Mayet started his professional career at IBM from 1999-2005, as an Enterprise Systems Management Architect, and joined Puleng in March 2005. He has fulfilled many technical roles, but was promoted to Service Delivery Manager, responsible for project success across Puleng's customer base, while he has spent the past eight years as Head of the Puleng Security division.

In his new role, Mayet will bring his own unique style of management to the team, continue to be involved with the sales and delivery engine that has proved so successful over the past decade, while leveraging the support from both Paul Thompson (co-founder and former CEO) and Steve James (co-founder), as well as the board of Puleng Technologies.

“This opportunity provides me with a platform to contribute positively to the next growth phase of the business, leverage my wealth of experience to ensure that our strategy remains progressive, leveraging the best of technologies, while ensuring we remain committed to growing local skills and expertise and providing excellence to our customers," Mayet says.

“We need to ensure that the Puleng brand remains top of mind and that we continue to provide high levels of competency and business integrity to all our partners, vendors and customers. This announcement heralds the new winds of change and tremendous opportunity for individuals within our business to develop, grasp the many opportunities that exist and continue to move the business forward.”

Puleng has a reputation within the industry for being an exceptionally well-run organisation. It is a reputation of which we are proud, and that we continue to uphold through inclusive leadership, our agility and speed to execution as we look forward to the next fifteen years of unparalleled success.
