Informed Decisions scooped the top accolade at the 2019 MTN Business IOT Awards.

Informed Decisions’ IOT hardware solution saw them taking top honours at the MTN IOT Conference and Awards, held in Sandton yesterday (24 October).

The proudly South African original equipment manufacturer (OEM) was named the overall winner and presented with the grand prize worth R200 000, which will see its developers travelling to Silicon Valley later this year.

Informed Decisions provides IOT tracking and monitoring solutions, all produced and designed in-house. Its hardware technology enables IOT in various industries such as pharmaceutical, the cold chain and water management.

The company operates independently of any public network provider. Its hardware runs on Informed Decision’s own private long range (LoRa) network and can be deployed in both urban and rural areas.

Congratulating all the winners, Wanda Matandela, chief enterprise officer of MTN Business said, the contestants have shown determination and demonstrated a good grasp of the challenges facing enterprise customers.

“Judging by the high standard of the solutions presented, we are certain that the future of IoT

is in good hands and the country is well positioned to play a central role in the fourth industrial revolution,” he said.
