There is an air of expectation within the South African and African market whenever the subject of cloud service and migration is raised. Companies sense the heightened level of activity around cloud-related products, services and solutions. This is why specialised cloud software and backup services provider Redstor has big plans for its participation at the ITWeb Cloud Summit 2018, scheduled for 8 February at Vodacom World, Midrand.

The main theme of the event is a discussion on how cloud has moved from being considered a 'disruptive force' or 'new technology' to the next generation in IT.

It will be a discussion peppered with details about cloud strategies, what goes in to the development of cloud technologies and services, and deployment of multi-cloud and hybrid architectures across numerous industries.

Jason Kotze, pre-sales consultant at Redstor, will explain how and when businesses should take advantage of the cloud, and why Redstor is a force to be reckoned with within the cloud services space during his presentation.

Kotze joined Redstor in January, hired to strengthen the company's pre-sales and solution architecture consultancy - an integral silo and core component of Redstor's overall value proposition.

Kotze is tasked with bridging the gap between technical and sales by assisting directly with technical qualification and solution scoping.

He will provide insight in the form of a case study centred on an exploration of how state-owned Trans-Caledon Tunnel Authority (TCTA) successfully migrated its backup to the cloud.

"We are proud to support this industry event. It is an important event that rightfully sheds the spotlight on cloud services and solutions, that is really the epicentre of ICT service today," said Kotze.
