Newland Mobile Computers grows market share in SA

Johannesburg, 30 Jun 2020

Since introducing Newland ID in 2015, Tactile Technologies, now its distributor in South Africa, has seen tremendous growth in the mobile computers segment. Significant successes are achieved in a variety of markets such as retail, logistics, healthcare and banking.

The Newland ID platform is a no-strings-attached platform. No complicated SLAs, no compulsory maintenance plans, no expensive MDMs. Newland ID has its own Mobile Device Management platform called NDEVOR, which is free of charge. On top of that, Newland ID is a leader in scanning technology with their own image and decoder chip technology. Huge focus is on Android, obviously, however, a Windows CE platform is still available.

Anthony Shumba, business development at Tactile Technologies, said: “The Newland mobile computers can no longer be ignored. Companies are selecting the Newland product because it is simply the best TCO mobile computer currently on the market. Our pricing is very competitive, our warranties match or go beyond the competition. Devices are hardened and the necessary accessories are available. We can often supply a lot faster than the competition as well. Furthermore, the feedback received is great and we believe we are in for the long run as Newland continues to invest in R&D, allowing us to keep up with the market’s demand. We now, for example, have our first platform that is Android Enterprise Recommended, a standard that focuses on elevated hardware, deployment, security and user experience for enterprise use.”

Tactile Technologies can, in the meantime, present a wonderful list of Newland ID references. Five years of hard work by Tactile and great support by Newland ID HQ have enabled Tactile to convince the likes of MRP, SPAR, Massdiscounters, Takealot.com, Adcock, Senwes and many others to welcome the Newland Mobile Computers.

The Newland ID range consists of more than mobile computers. Handheld scanners, desktop scanners, scanning engines, micro kiosks and tablets are available as well.

Even in these hard times, the future looks bright for Newland ID in South Africa. For more info, contact your Tactile Technologies account manager and/or go to www.newland-id.com.
