IT Act to be amended

The Internet Governance Forum says an amendment to India's Information Technology Act would put it in line with the European Cyber Convention, reports Domain-B.

This will enable the government to effectively deal with online data security, data privacy, identity theft, cyber-terrorism, child pornography, spam, phishing and other online fraud.

The amendment Bill, which has been pending for two years, will be taken up by the Indian parliament in the winter session, which begins next week.

Neural beats the best

Neural Technologies was presented with an Organisational Excellence Award from the British Computer Society. The risk management solution provider was named Large Technology Supplier of the Year in a ceremony held at Grosvenor House Hotel, in London, says Business Credit Management.

Neural Technologies beat off competition from industry giants such as Sun Microsystems, IBM, Ericsson and EMC^2 to win the award, which recognises excellence, professionalism and innovation in IT.

Neural Technologies provides fraud and risk management solutions to the telecoms and finance industries. The company's CEO, John Gavan, said the achievement was outstanding and he believes the company's solutions will continue to bring greater revenue savings.
