Defence to investigate Unisys

The Australia Defence Association (ADA) is asking the Defence Department to fully investigate reports that the company it plans to outsource IT to has been accused of failing to detect cyber security breaches, reports ABC.

Unisys is under investigation in the US, but the company insists the allegation that it did not properly install security systems is incorrect.

Neil James from the ADA says the Defence Department needs to conduct its own review.

IBM opens Indian centre

IBM has opened a new centre in India to meet strong global demand for outsourcing, reports Reuters.

The facility in Noida will provide application services to IBM's global clients, the company said in a statement.

IBM will open another centre in the vicinity that will be fully operational by mid-year. The two centres will house about 3 000 employees.

Genpact, Ceridian sign deal

Genpact has signed a multi-year contract with payroll processing and HR management firm Ceridian Corporation to provide BPO services, including finance and accounting services, transactional business support activities, and IT outsourcing, reports Economic Times.

Under the contract, Ceridian and Genpact will operate under the virtual captive model.

The Genpact-Ceridian centres initially will be set up in Juarez in Mexico, and Jaipur and Kolkata, India.
