BCX COO, Mike Buttner, has resigned for personal reasons.
BCX COO, Mike Buttner, has resigned for personal reasons.

Mike Buttner, who was appointed chief operations officer (COO) of BCX in April this year, has called it quits.

The IT services company appointed Buttner together with then chief revenue officer Jonas Bogoshi earlier this year. Bogoshi has since replaced Ian Russell as CEO at the Telkom subsidiary.

In a farewell e-mail to BCX employees, Bogoshi says: "His stay may have been short, but it is my personal opinion that Mike Buttner's brief time with us as chief operations officer has been a meaningful and impactful one.

"Mike has resigned for personal reasons and he will be following a new professional path closer to home, in Cape Town. I'm sure you will join me in wishing him all the best for his future ventures.

"I would like to thank Mike for being at the forefront of implementing our operating model and leading a team that is passionate about delivering the best to our customers. His positive energy and quick wit will be solely missed.

"Mike will leave at the end of August. We are in the process of appointing a replacement. In the interim Leon Gerber will be our acting COO," says Bogoshi.

Buttner joined BCX from T-Systems, where he served as VP of sales and service management and VP of service delivery.

He also spent three years in the Netherlands with T-Systems International. He has over 30 years' experience in the ICT and financial services industries with extensive service delivery leadership expertise.

He previously held positions at Standard Bank, Gijima, AST Group, SX Enterprise Solutions and Old Mutual.
