SilverBridge acquires Acczone Systems

Johannesburg, 28 Jan 2010

Acczone kicked of 2010 by upgrading the Acczone Software Series from its current client-server configuration to a Web-browser solution using Microsoft's .Net technology. We firmly believe that failure to do so would gradually lead to users finding our software unattractive compared to competitive offerings.

“Our .Net project was commenced with at the beginning of this year, but we quickly realised that the cost of this undertaking was beyond our means and that a strong partner would be needed. This ideally must to be a partner who had the means to finance such development, as well as the technical expertise to assist and guide the design and development process, says Ben Pieters, CEO Acczone systems.

SilverBridge offers software solutions in the life assurance segment of the financial services sector and has clients across Africa. The SilverBridge management is keen to expand its offering to include a credit management software solution.

Acczone systems agreed to sell the business operations of the Acczone Series, the Acczone Academy and GrayTech, the implementation partner of Acczone, with effect 1 December 2009. These will now trade as three divisions of Acczone Systems, a new SilverBridge Group company.

From the client's point of view, operations will continue as before, but Acczone is now backed by a JSE listed company.

Acczone remain in the existing Rosebank premises and clients will continue to correspond with the same contact persons as before. Acczone recently appointed Miss Lynne McCarthy as the new Marketing- and New Business Development manager and part of the Acczone EXCO, to liase more closely with our existing clients and to oversee new implementation projects. In her appointment, Lynne McCarthy is responsible to establish the Acczone marketing department and manage all marketing, brand development and public relations activities. A second portion of her responsibilities, resides in the identification and development of new business avenues, clients, partners and channels.

We also aim to establish a user group forum in late July 2010, where Acczone users could meet and exchange ideas, and in turn be briefed on the many exciting developments on the .Net front.
