SMEs wary of new broadband providers

Easynet Connect has published findings of a survey that shows how small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are reluctant to switch broadband providers, says Think Broadband.

The report asserts that not only is Internet access becoming a critical part of the operations of a modern business, but SMEs are increasing their expectations of their suppliers.

The research shows that one in seven businesses would not be able to manage for more than a day without broadband, and 77% had faced service problems, but only one in 10 were considering switching broadband service providers.

Panda Security targets SMEs

Panda Security has announced the general availability of Panda Managed Office Protection, a new security-as-a-service (SaaS) solution for SMEs, states IT Reseller Online.

Panda Managed Office Protection's remote Web management console enables secure configuration of IT resources from any computer on the Internet.

Profiles can also be assigned across the organisation to adapt security measures according to individual or departmental requirements, providing complete remote security management with no need for user intervention.

Buffalo provides storage for SMEs

A new range of data storage solutions aimed at small firms has been announced by Buffalo Technologies, reports CCL Online.

The TeraStation Pro II iSCSI, which is available in one, two and four terabyte capacities, is designed to offer SMEs high-speed data transfer rates and data backup at affordable prices.

Designed with the small business market in mind, the external hard drives can also be used to expand the capacity of an office's local disc drives, while the capacity can also be partitioned into 10 and assigned to an individual PC or server.
