SME redefines industry standards

Projecturf, a Web-based project management software, eliminates the need for subscription plans, states SF Gate.

It does this by offering SMEs the ability to choose a price based exclusively on the number of projects that accurately aligns with their workload. Companies now have a total of six options to select from without any restrictions on features or the number of users added to their account.

Existing customers have the option to easily move to the new pricing structure or stay on their old plans. As an added benefit, existing customers on the Startup and Business plans are supposed to receive additional projects for no or a minimal fee. In conjunction with these changes, considerable discounts are being provided to non-profit organisations, the report says.

CA delivers PPM in the cloud

CA Technologies expanded on its position in project and portfolio management (PPM) by releasing a solution that enables organisations to bring the voice of the customer to the forefront of decision making about what to build and bring to market, says PR Newswire.

This was revealed at Dreamforce 2010, the cloud computing event. To best meet customer needs and succeed in the marketplace, it's now essential that the right products and services are developed, in addition to them being on time and on budget.

The new integrated solution brings together the industry-leading CA Clarity PPM product with new and updated cloud applications: CA Idea Vision, CA Product Vision and CA Agile Vision. As a result, organisations can now enable the development of what their customers want, with the flexibility of using one solution to manage traditional development and new Agile projects.

Instantis unveils EPPM blog

Instantis, an on-demand provider of enterprise project portfolio management (EPPM) software used by business process and IT leaders to improve strategy execution and financial performance, formally unveiled a blog site, writes San Francisco Chronicle

The blog site targets those interested in following and driving the trend towards EPPM. Instantis defines EPPM as the practice of taking a more integrated and tops-down approach to managing all-project intensive work and resources across the enterprise.

EPPM contrasts with traditional PPM practices of maintaining separate functional and supporting technology silos to manage IT, product development, process improvement and other enterprise initiatives and programs.
