CIOs and their information security professionals face a very different infosec landscape, says Fay Humphries, events programme director at ITWeb.

The tailored tracks at the ITWeb Security Summit 2014 cover a wide range of topics, empowering information security professionals to select sessions of particular relevance to their roles within the enterprise.

So says Fay Humphries, events programme director at ITWeb, who adds that further focusing their choices is the fact that the presentations also cater for differing levels of responsibility, covering the needs of C-level executives right through to technical operations.

Now in its ninth year, the conference will bring together international and local IT and security professionals, practitioners, industry experts and analysts to share their experiences, acquire knowledge and gain an understanding of the key tools, techniques and strategies needed to safeguard their organisations' most valuable asset - information.

Changing regulatory and legal requirements, together with rapid advances in technology, the need to do more with less, evolving business drivers and an increasingly mobile workforce, see CIOs and their information security professionals being faced with a very different infosec landscape, Humphries notes.

The governance and management track will provide actionable insights for delegates, while the privacy and data protection track will address the challenges around sharing data while protecting personally identifiable information, she adds.

Protecting sensitive data and corporate intellectual property has never been more relevant within the local market, says Humphries. Performanta will support a 'how to' track, where presentations by seasoned infosec practitioners will provide practical, hands-on, actionable insights. Case studies here will show how to successfully tackle strategy and design, implementation and operations.

Other tailored offerings at the event will include a state-of-the-nation offensive landscape update, and a track on offensive techniques and tools.
