MateBook 14 ‘best for business’, says Huawei

Johannesburg, 26 Jul 2021

Huawei’s new MateBook 14 is the best business laptop on the market in terms of portability, performance, features, battery life and service, says Huawei in South Africa.

The new MateBook 14 combines the level of design, performance and the features most in demand among business executives today, Huawei says. With a sleek, solid metal build and weighing in at just 1.49kg, the new 14-inch powerhouse is only 15.9mm thin.

The MateBook 14 boasts an 11 Generation Intel Core i7 processor with an advanced 10nm SuperFin CPU to boost multi-core performance by up to 29% and integrated Iris Xe Graphics allows for a smoother experience, even when multitasking.

Huawei Shark Fin cooling fans improve heat dissipation by up to 50%, and with a 10-hour battery life and Super Charge capability, the MateBook 14 is designed to keep users powered up and productive all day.

Huawei notes that few slim and portable notebooks combine all the features executives need – such as WiFi 6, 2K touchscreen and multi-screen cooperation functionality.

Highly portable, lightweight notebooks often have to sacrifice battery life, and fast WiFi 6 is not a default option on most notebooks yet, Huawei says.

To illustrate how the Huawei MateBook 14 stacks up against other popular notebooks, the technology giant pitted its new MateBook 14 against the Apple MacBook Air, HP Pavilion 15 and Dell Inspiron 5406 for a feature-for-feature comparison.

The MateBook 14’s FullView display offered a viewing area with a 3:2 aspect ratio and a 2K touchscreen resolution of 2 160 x 1 440, compared with the other notebooks, which do not offer 2K touchscreen displays.

Battery life is equally important with every laptop, and Huawei says it has ensured that despite its sleek looks and light weight, battery life isn’t compromised with the MateBook 14. It gives users almost 11 hours of continuous video playback and fast charging support with its 65W USB-Type C adaptor. When the battery eventually runs out, users are assured that a quick charge can give hours of usage. None of the other devices offered both 10+ hours of battery life with Super Charge.

While the devices under comparison do offer some of the key features of the MateBook 14, only the MateBook 14 offers the full suite of 2K touchscreen, super slim metal body weighing under 1.5kg, 10+ hours battery life, Super Charge, 11 gen Intel CPU, WiFi 6, multi-screen cooperation and 7x24 VIP service that make it the best notebook for business users, says Huawei.

Huawei’s new MateBook 14 and MateBook D15i3 laptops are now available in South Africa, giving local consumers access to high-performance all-round devices that check all the boxes for style, a premium experience, blazing-fast connectivity, portability and all-day-long battery life. The new devices are available through Vodacom, Takealot, Incredible Connection and the Huawei online store, in bundled special offers including a Huawei laptop backpack, Bluetooth mouse and VIP service valued at R1 299; priced at R10 999 for the MateBook D15i3 and R24 999 for the Huawei MateBook 14.
