Demand for quality assurance and testing skills has seen explosive growth over the last few years as corporates look to boost their testing and QA teams.
The demand for testing skills has grown despite the increase in testing automation and the higher skills requirements in order for a tester or QA specialist to be able to design and execute automated tests.
Selenium, the portable software testing framework for Web applications, is the poster child for the approach changing the testing world. "Selenium is the leading Web testing tool in the quality assurance industry and this has lead to the need for training in Selenium and Selenium WebDriver", said Mark Clarke from Jumping Bean explaining why Jumping Bean has introduced a Selenium training course for testers.
Selenium is the de-facto standard tool for Web applications automated testing it is designed for beginners with a basic understanding of HTML and how Web Pages are developed. Jumping Bean's Selenium training course takes the newcomer through all the basic techniques of writing effective automated Web tests.
Candidates will also understand the key principles of test automation using Selenium. They will also understand how to structure automated testing, how to manage object recognition using techniques such as Xpath, CSS and the Browser DOM. With Careers24 claiming the average salary for a software tester is R25 000 a month, a career in software testing is worth a look.
