Blackboard partners major publishers

Blackboard has entered into partnerships with four major educational publishers, reports Campus Technology.

The publishers are Macmillan, Cengage, John Wiley and Sons and Pearson. The partnerships are designed to deliver enhanced integration between Blackboard's flagship learning management system, Blackboard Learn, and the learning resources and tools offered by the four publishers.

Macmillan and Blackboard revealed plans to enable seamless integration between Macmillan's digital learning offerings and the Blackboard Learn platform according to RTT News.

The partnership with Cengage Learning, according to Blackboard, will allow Learn users to access Cengage digital materials and curriculum tools, along with grade book integration and automatic sign-on, while a similar agreement with Wiley will provide an integration between Learn and Wiley's educational software as well as Wiley Plus.

The agreement with Pearson will see an integration of Pearson's MyLab and Mastering programs in conjunction with the Blackboard Lean online teaching and learning platform that enables a seamless transition between systems.

Blackboard provides electronic learning Internet infrastructure software. The company's product line is bundled in two suites, the Blackboard Academic Suite and the Blackboard Commerce Suite. The company licenses these products on a renewable basis reports Zacks Investment Research.
