Although Standard Bank ATM deposits will be unavailable, customers will still be able to swipe debit, cheque or credit cards.

Standard Bank's banking app, business online, Internet, telephone and cellphone banking services as well as ATM deposits will be unavailable while the bank undertakes system maintenance.

In a statement, the bank notified customers that on 12 June between 2am Sunday morning and 12am Monday morning, some of its online systems will be disrupted by the maintenance.

"There will be limited services at Standard Bank branches, customer contact centres and the AlwaysOn banking channel via WeChat.

"While Standard Bank recognises the impact of service disruptions on customers, the downtime is necessary to make the system changes," reads the statement.

Despite the downtime, Standard Bank says customers will still be able to use their debit, cheque or credit cards to make in-store purchases and cash withdrawals at ATMs.

Customers will also be able to use other services, such as SnapScan, MasterPass and travel wallet cards.

The bank has encouraged its customers to plan ahead and make payments or do banking transactions via the banking app, business online, Internet, telephone and cellphone banking before Sunday.
