Magicolor 2400W ignites Konica Minolta sales worldwide

Johannesburg, 04 Nov 2005

With options such as the magicolor 2400W from Konica Minolta, the inkjet printer`s days could be numbered.

Printing five pages per minute in full colour at 2400 dots per inch resolution, with the first page printed out in around 21 seconds, and at a per page cost of just over R1 per colour print, have all contributed to the increase in colour laser printer sales for Konica Minolta Europe.

"This trend is very much reflected in South Africa," says Robin Mowatt, Business Development Manager for Itec SA, one of two Konica Minolta distributors in South Africa.

"I believe there is more to the success of the magicolour 2400W than just the product, sales channel and support," Mowatt continues.

"The magicolor 2400W is specifically and ergonomically designed for the SME business market. It has a small footprint and all actions such as replacing the consumables and paper can be conveniently undertaken at the front of the printer. There are no ventilation holes on the side or rear of the machine, so one requires minimal space for the printer. So much so that one can comfortably have your PC monitor, a scanner and the magicolor, all on one desk, with working space to spare.

"The magicolor 2400W also looks good and the print quality of standard business documents, brochures, presentations and even photographs is consistent from print one to print 100. Integrating the magicolor 2400W with a good scanner and PC makes for the complete home office solution, at the right price," says Mowatt.

"With growth like this, it is often difficult to predict the future sales, but at current sales rates, the picture is a bright one for the manufacturer, distributors, IT dealers, clients or users alike," concludes Mowatt.

Konica Minolta laser printers are distributed by TVR Computers (011) 807 1390 and ITEC SA (011) 236 2000.
