Affordable, always on virtual hosting a possibility for South African companies

Vox Telecom announces details of its virtual hosting solution.

Johannesburg, 15 Oct 2014

Vox Telecom's fully customisable, enterprise-grade virtual hosting service is now running over the Vox Telecom Cloud - reducing risk, server sprawl and downtime.

Speaking at the final leg of the national Cloud Roadshow, Craig Freer, Head of Products, noted: "The challenges businesses face are universal and include the rising costs of hardware purchases, difficulty implementing availability and disaster recovery plans and poor server performance due to older equipment."

Designed to combat these challenges, virtual hosting from Vox Telecom is backed by the company's own data centre and network, offering a robust solution to server hosting in business-critical areas such as server consolidation, high availability and disaster recovery, elasticity of resources, centralised data storage and server resource management.

"This virtualisation offering was designed to meet small, medium and enterprise organisations' business requirements. These included scalability, flexibility and cost efficiency, while at the same time offering high availability as a standard and in so doing, ensuring superior uptime," adds Freer.

The backbone is fully managed by Vox Telecom and removes the necessity for customers to worry about compute, storage and all other areas regarding data centre operations.

Concludes Freer: "We remain committed to developing products and services that are geared towards allowing our customers to focus on growing their own businesses, while we take care not only of their telecommunications needs but the full ICT stack."
