South African organisations are embracing OPEX unified communications models as they move to the next level of digital maturity, says Unify.

Speaking ahead of the upcoming Unify Unified Communications Roadshow in South Africa, Feras Zeidan, Unify VP for Middle East, Africa and Turkey, says SA is among the emerging market leaders in terms of unified communications maturity and readiness to embark on true digital transformation.

Information and communications are key factors in digital transformation, and supporting flexible, multi-channel information flow in a cost-effective way is crucial for local companies embarking on digital transformation initiatives, Zeidan notes.

"The biggest trends we see in the unified communications space in SA today are a move to cloud-based communications, companies choosing OPEX over CAPEX models, a growing need to break down siloes for enhanced team collaboration, and efforts to enhance customer experience and customer engagement across all channels.

"Local organisations are embracing pay-as-you-go models where possible: they have the necessary infrastructures in place, the region is mature in terms of its ICT adoption, and now organisations are looking to achieve scalable, hands-off infrastructure with predictable budgets.

"At the same time, they want to enhance customer engagement and experience, and support next-generation collaboration across the entire ecosystem."

Unify's roadshow, to be staged in Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town later this month, will explore the emerging unified communications trends and solutions, as well as their role in overall digital transformation.

Unify will host the events in partnership with parent company Atos, the international video and voice solutions manufacturer and developer of the Atos Digital Transformation Factory, which supports the digital business ecosystem.

The roadshow will also illustrate how solutions from HP Aruba Networking, ASC Voice Recording and Microsoft complement Unify's solutions.

"The whole world is moving to the cloud and embracing digital transformation, and Unify is committed to supporting South African customers as they follow suit," says Zeidan.

"Our roadshow will illustrate our value proposition for organisations migrating to the cloud, those debating on-premises versus hosted communications, companies looking to integrate more customer engagement channels for a seamless communications experience, and those seeking next-gen applications that are customisable and flexible."

The Unify Unified Communications Roadshow will be staged in Johannesburg on 20 November, Durban on 21 November and Cape Town on 22 November.
