Infosys intros Cloud Ecosystem Hub

Infosys last week unveiled cloud integration software solutions, Cloud Ecosystem Hub, writes The Hindu Business Line.

This, according to the company, will enable its existing and future clients to adopt, manage and govern cloud computing solutions.

“Businesses can now accelerate time-to-market of cloud computing related services up to 40%, improve productivity by up to 20% and achieve cost-savings of up to 30%,” says Vishnu Bat, Infosys' VP and global head for cloud.

Further, this solution will work with private, public cloud and hybrid clouds - which is a combination of private and public clouds. A private cloud is where a company keeps existing IT infrastructure within its premises and uses solutions on a need basis and in a public cloud, the IT infrastructure resides online and is used on a need basis.

The solution helps organisations select, compare and deploy cloud services from across providers, reports Zee News.

Decisions can be based on evaluation of over 20 parameters like quality of service, technology compatibility, regulatory compliance needs and total cost of ownership of application workloads.

“The solution will provide a single-window view of the ecosystem and brings cohesion into an otherwise fragmented IT environment - across private and public cloud with on-premise IT. It enables easy monitoring of cloud resource usage and optimises utilisation,” Bat says.

He adds that the company will target both new and existing clients for the solution, especially in sectors like financial services, life sciences, retail, manufacturing, energy and utilities.

According to PCWorld, Infosys, positioned as a “cloud ecosystem integrator”, is working with over 30 providers of cloud infrastructure, applications and platforms including Amazon Web Services, CA Technologies, Dell, Hitachi Data Systems, Hewlett-Packard, IBM, Microsoft and VMware to build connectors between these various technologies, and also offer to customise the applications and services to meet specific customer needs, Bhat says.
