Ansys launches mining and rail sector application weigh-in motion and related solutions

Big Holes - Big Machines - Big Money - Big Savings!

Pretoria, 08 Feb 2017

Ansys Rail has announced the immediate availability of the Trakblaze Suite of Mining and Rail Weigh-In-Motion (WIM) and Condition Monitoring and Diagnostic Solutions. These encompass fixed or static and dynamic WIM scales such as, the Force1, Titan and Truckmate WIM road truck solutions; the Force2 and Force4 WIM mine dumper or hauler solutions; the Mobile Train Weighe (MTW) and the Infinity Rail WIM solutions, the Ultimate and Genesis Bogie presses used for weighing and balancing of rail bogies and axles, as well as stress diagnostics and the Turbo and Trakmate in-motion train weight acquisition, axle and wheel condition monitoring solutions.

"Ansys Rail provides leading-edge technology in localised engineering and related infrastructure hardware and software solutions. Ansys Rail has a strategic relationship with Trakblaze Global. Partnering with Trakblaze Global, a leading provider of in-motion-weighing systems, enables us to provide and support these leading-edge technologies for customers in our territory," states Lebo Masekela, Chief Executive of Ansys Rail. "These are solutions that are being used successfully in other parts of the world but which are not commonly leveraged in Africa. Through this strategic relationship we are leading the way in bringing these solutions to the customers that need them and aligning with geographic localisation and supplier development initiatives to provide close on 70% local content and value add. As part of Ansys Rail's commitment to the mining and rail sectors, these systems will be available for purchase or rental."

Lebo further adds, "Companies, operations and managers are being pressed to lower costs and optimize efficiencies, increase product life cycles, reduce Total Cost of Ownership and provide reliable, repeatable and accurate production intelligence. For example, in mining the limited availability of larger tyres globally is an expensive consideration and weighing systems such as the FORCE provide the required data needed to assure proper and safe loading to maximise tyre life and minimise safety risks. The FORCE system provides the most comprehensive set of capabilities in conjunction with the most accurate in-motion-weighing performance worldwide. Existing on-board weighing systems only have an estimated accuracy of 7%, and still require frequent calibration on these Force weighbridge pads. It is clear to us that the FORCE provides the lowest cost of ownership and shortest ROI to our customers."

Ansys Rail understands the problems associated with the loading of rail wagons and mining trucks, as well as the management and avoidance of incorrect loading. For example, the FORCE WIM or Static Mining/Haul/Dumper Truck Scales offer an unbeatable Weighing Speed of up to 12kmh at an accuracy of +/-0.5% in-motion and +/-0.05% static. Whilst the Infinity Rail WIM models operate accurately in three speed range options, namely Low Speed (0.1 to 15km/h), Medium Speed (0.1 to 40km/h) and High Speed (0.1 to 80km/h) and accuracies of +/-0.5% in-motion and +/-0.05% static. The Infinity Rail scale is also available for static applications in full draft versions. Purchase or rental options are available.

Both the Force Mining Scales and the Infinity Rail WIM models use advanced Vehicle Identification Systems (VIS) and state of-the-art computerised interconnectivity, providing remote diagnostic support, analysis and remedial capabilities. On the Infinity Rail applications, seamless integration to Integrated Train Condition Monitoring Systems is possible, further enhancing Ansys Rail's commitment to providing a 360o comprehensive 24x7 hour customer service.
