The application economy has become the most important issue facing enterprises today, says CA Southern Africa's Gary Lawrence.

Traditionally attracting around 1 100 registrations at each event, the CA Southern Africa IT Management Symposium 2016 looks set to break previous attendance records thanks to its focus on the most topical issue yet - the application economy.

On the day registrations opened, 222 delegates immediately secured their places - significantly up on traditional registration patterns.

Gary Lawrence, MD of CA Southern Africa, says the CA IT Management Symposium has become one of the most networking and information-sharing events on the local IT sector calendar.

Ahead of the application economy wave hitting SA, CA's focus on this issue at IT management symposium is attracting more top IT influencers than ever before, he adds.

Lawrence says the application economy has become the most important issue facing enterprises today.

"This disruptive trend impacts everything," he says. "With everything and everyone connected in a mobile, application-based ecosystem, all businesses are challenged by the need to develop and deliver superior user experiences that engage both customers and staff. It's a business revolution."

Southern African businesses are fast realising that the application economy will bring about dramatic change in the way they run their businesses and engage with partners and customers, says Lawrence. However, they are not always clear on the necessary roadmaps, strategies and technologies to help them adapt to business in this new era, he adds.

To help the local public and private sector thrive in this new application economy, CA Southern Africa will bring the most pressing topics under discussion at CA World in Las Vegas to SA, where local IT professionals and enterprise heads will get to grips with what's changed in the world of business, and how they need to adapt accordingly.
