Azeus Convene: a year in review and the road ahead

Johannesburg, 17 Jan 2019

In 2017, Azeus Convene achieved recognition from international institutions and expansion to more than 40 countries. In 2018, Azeus Convene elevated its status even further as a premier board portal solution. Below are some of the company's major milestones:

Increased global presence

Building from the momentum the company gained last year, it further accelerated its growth by increasing its customer base to more than 70 countries.

With the addition of clients from countries such as Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Benin, Ghana, and Tanzania, Convene strengthened its footprint across regional markets, especially in the Caribbean and Africa, as well as reasserted its status as one of the fastest growing board and enterprise meeting solutions.

Azeus Convene attributes its rapid global expansion to the teams that support its strategies for business growth, which include adopting a customer-centric approach, implementing an efficient internal structure, and building strong partnerships with local organisations and companies.

Added big names as clients from various industries

As a leading enterprise meeting software, Convene caters to different types of companies, whether they are publicly listed, privately held, government-owned, or non-profit in nature, from all kinds of sectors.

As such, Azeus Convene is proud to announce it has earned the trust of some of the most well-known organisations coming from fields around the world, like Amway Malaysia (consumer goods), Afrimat Limited (construction), The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (education), Cambridgeshire Community Services NHS Trust (healthcare), and Telecommunications Authority of Trinidad and Tobago (telecommunications) among others.

Received accolades from prestigious award-giving bodies

In 2018, Convene was recognised by not just one, but two, internationally acclaimed institutions.

Last April, Azeus Convene was hailed as the SaaS Enterprise Solution of the Year at the IT Europa awards. IT Europa's European IT & Software Excellence Awards recognises best practices in customer solutions and celebrates service excellence from the vendor and distributor community. The accolades were given to IT solutions that were able to get to the heart of customer issues, deliver better business, and gain a clearer understanding of data for more efficient and profitable outcomes.

In the same month, it was named the winner of the Silver Stevie Award for Innovation in Business Utility Apps in the fifth annual Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards. The key consideration for the 2018 Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards was innovation in all forms. As an active provider in the IT industry for more than 25 years, Azeus has always been committed to delivering high-quality solutions to its customers through constant improvement of its products and services.

Enhanced meeting experience

Guided by the philosophy of continuous improvement, Azeus Convene constantly builds on customer feedback to drive software development for Convene.

In 2018, it made significant strides to empower leaders by incorporating more features centred on corporate governance. The latest release of version 5.3 introduced a considerable number of enhancements for both directors and administrators.

For example, directors can now opt to receive meeting invitations as regular e-mails or calendar events, and also send copies of their e-mail notifications to all of their assistants. As for secretaries, they can now schedule multi-day meetings with different time schedules and agendas for each day, set recurring agenda items, and copy them to the next meeting.

Additionally, recognising the importance of language in technology adoption, Azeus Convene expanded its language support to 11 languages. By putting the needs of its users first, it is able to craft and implement strategies that move Convene forward.

Participated in conferences across the globe

To gain a better understanding of its clients' and even prospects' needs, Convene makes it to a point to invest in sit-down discussions and engage in personal interactions.

The company has attended almost 20 conferences in different regions around the world, such as the Government Digital Technology Congress: Development in a Digital World; Public Sector Enterprise ICT Conference, in Europe; Government Institute of Australia Conference, in Australia; Governance Professionals of Canada Annual Conference, and US Society for Corporate Governance National Conference, in North America; and Malaysian Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators Conference, and Hong Kong Institute of Chartered Secretaries, Corporate Governance Conference, in Asia.

Participation in such events increased Azeus Convene's awareness of the fact that each country and culture brings a different perspective to the table. Thus, the company has learned about their pain points and the functionalities they look for in a board portal solution.

Overall, 2018 was filled with achievements for the entire Convene team. Azeus Convene looks forward to an even brighter year ahead, as the company brings meetings to greater heights through its commitment to customer service and corporate governance.
