Brainstorm is known, among other things, for its exceptional photography, and much of that is thanks to the magazine’s talented photographer Karolina Komendera.
She has photographed hundreds of people in our industry. Her secret is making people feel at ease, and the results are photographs that capture the person’s essence.
We asked Karolina and art director Sane Louw to select their favourite portraits of the year. Here they are, randomly numbered from 1 to 13.

Paula Sartini is the founder and CEO of BrandQuantum, a business she launched in 2014 to help companies protect and promote their brands.

Sven Blom, head of sales at Teraco, appeared in the May feature, Analytics in the era of hyperscale.
7. Charl van der Walt
Charl van der Walt, chief strategy officer at cyber security company SecureData SensePost, was interviewed by Brainstorm’s online editor for the July cover story.
