MCI Consultants, the largest distributor of staffing software in southern Africa, today announced the results of its 2015 SA HR Recruitment trend survey that received 1 367 responses from HR professionals from across the country, and a cross-section of organisation sizes. This is the fourth consecutive year that MCI Consultants has undertaken the running of this survey.
"We believe this one to be the largest survey of its kind to be conducted in South Africa," commented Rhett Davies, Partner at MCI.
"The interest shown in this survey clearly indicates that recruitment is an area that is causing many challenges for companies as they seek to grapple with the ongoing skills shortage that exists in this country."
Some of the highlights from the survey were as follows:
* Talent retention increased, with the majority of companies reporting staff turnover of between 5%-10%, the lowest it has been in years;
* Eighty-nine percent of organisations attempt to source and place candidates internally before approaching recruitment agencies;
* Sixty-four percent of organisations have implemented a strategy to ensure their recruitment process is POPI compliant;
* Seventy-four percent of organisations use social media to recruit candidates, with LinkedIn being by far the most successful;
* Fifty-six percent of organisations use a recruitment management system such as MCI's Direct Hire system; and
* Overall, recruitment agencies and internal referrals gave the best quality candidates, while print media gave the worst.
An infographic summarising the survey is shown below; however, the full results of the survey can be found at http://bit.ly/HRsurvey2015.
MCI's Direct Hire solution is a powerful, versatile and easy-to-use e-recruitment solution for medium-sized and large organisations. It has been specifically designed and developed by MCI Consultants to automate the requisition-to-hire process.
