Two new executive appointments at DVT

Johannesburg, 13 Feb 2012

Software development company DVT has appointed Jacques Fouche as MD of DVT (Cape), and Craig Neill as chief technology officer (CTO).

Fouche has worked with DVT for the past four years in the role of project manager, account manager and director.

Neill, previously of BCX, will further enhance the ability of DVT to match the correct technology solutions to its clients' business needs.

“The appointments indicate the unprecedented growth of the business over the past two years,” says Chris Wilkins, CEO of DVT.

“We now have more than 300 professional staff, and a senior management team of 25.”

According to Wilkins, this growth is the result of both regional success in the Western Cape, and the focused, federal business model deployed by DVT nationally to accelerate organic growth and minimise business risk.

With a BComm degree in banking and an MBA, Fouche was previously employed at Rand Merchant Bank as a project manager for four years.

Following that, he moved to Barclays Africa, where he was the senior change manager for four years, prior to joining DVT.

“My role as MD of DVT Cape is to develop, design and implement the strategic plan for the company,” says Fouche.

“I will also provide leadership and direction to staff and manage the day-to-day running of the business to ensure that we maintain the excellent performance that has seen DVT grow to the extent that it has.”

Neill says he will continue to approach technology from an agnostic perspective.

“My aim is to marry business requirements to technical solutions, and to provide guidance on the best technology options for our clients, while maintaining the conversation at board and CEO level from a business perspective.

As CTO, I will ensure that I am abreast of the latest technologies available and that DVT is able to inform clients of the trends in the market.”

A seasoned entrepreneur, Neill has a number of years of experience in running his own businesses.

His focus was predominantly on architecture and product development for several key products implemented in mining, consulting, energy and financial companies. In 2010, he joined BCX where he headed up the application development department in the Western Cape until his appointment as CTO at DVT.
